If you have never tried working with Soutache or need a refresher this is the class for you. We will cover what Soutache is, the different kinds of Soutache and how to stack, align and stitch through the Soutache ribbon. The class project will introduce you to a simple technique called, “The Lollypop”. Other techniques covered in the class will be joining, how to put on an ultra suede backing and edge beading your work. (Project may not be completed in class) 3 1/2 hour class.

These bead embroidery classes are focused on supporting your journey in creating your own style of bead embroidery. You’ll explore creating your own pieces using your choice of a variety of materials and techniques. With practice and exploration you’ll be creating bead embroidery that speaks to you and of you.
Topics to be covered: designing, preparation of foundation, material choices, embroidery stitches, techniques using soutache, fabric, ribbons, cabochons, shaping techniques, finishing/edging techniques, and more. You’ll create the item of your choice–pin, pendant, collar, cuff, etc.
This is a three session class– 2 hours each session. The second and third class scheduled times can be changed if needed.
The Cluster Knot Necklace is created building several strands of knotted bead clusters over a base anchor strand. It can be classic or dramatic depending on bead choice and number of strands used.
Pre-requisite: Getting Started with Beading class.
Beadpoint, a popular Victorian technique, provides the look of needlepoint with a texture. This class will provide basic information about choices regarding, beads, canvas, stitches and finishing. All you need to know to get started and create your own Beadpoint cuff, pin or box.
This free class was designed for anyone who wants the scoop about how to get started stringing beads (2 methods) and constructing basic earrings. Covering the basic techniques, we’ll string a necklace or bracelet with nylon thread and bead tips, string a necklace with beading wire and crimps, and if time make a pair of earrings with headpins and a basic loop. This class is perfect for the beginner just getting started.
You are welcome to bring your own materials or purchase needed items in studio.
