| Fiber Frolics: Silk Sensations Necklace |
Learn to make a fabulous silk necklace wrapped with your choice of wire and beads or fiber and beads. We will stamp and paint our silk and then design a very original piece of wearable art! There should be time to make at least 2 necklaces. Sample in studio.
Instructor: Nancy Evans, Fiber Artist and Juried Member, League of NH Craftsmen Level: Fiber and Related Arts Price: $55 Provided Supplies: Instructions Bring: Round nose pliers, metallic fabric paint..2-3 colors, 1 " foam brush, craft wire (color to match your fabric), or copper or brass wire, fabric glue, beads that can be strung on your wire (charms if you wish), a clasp or a button (opt for a fiber closure), a central focal piece (great selection in Bead Bush), 24" X 6" piece of batik and/or silk dupioni (instructor will have some for purchase), fibers to wrap your neck piece and beads with a hole large enough to thread the fiber through(if you want to wrap your piece with fiber instead of wire).

| Fabulous Felted Flowers for Embellishment |
This day long class will cover the basics of how to make felted flowers and leaves. Use these flowers in pins, for hair pieces, to decorate a hat or bag, or make a necklace. Centers of the flowers can be beaded for added interest. Incorporating silk will be covered. Participants will leave with several flowers pieces.
This class is sponsored by Bead Society of NH and the Bead Bush Studio. Cost for BSNH members and Master Beader Program participants is $50.

| Fiber Frolics: Not Your Grandma's Fiber Beads |
If you are wondering what to do with all those fabric scraps you have lying around, this is the class for you! Learn to cut your scraps into shapes, roll them in a variety of ways, then embellish with paint, wire, or beads. The results are stunning beads that you can use to make jewelry or embellish clothing or home decorator items like picture frames. Participants will make lots of beads in class, and string them into a necklace or bracelet if desired.

Bring: Fabric scraps (silk dupioni, batik cottons work really well), fabric glue, old credit card, scissors, various wire, fibers and beads for embellishing, clear nail polish, old metal knitting needle, and a few paper plates or waxed paper to work on.
If you want to finish a necklace or bracelet, bring stringing material and closure.

| Knitted Scarf: Fiber |
Add some sparkle to your knitted scarves this season! This scarf showcases beautiful diagonal moss stitch panels with an interval of ribbing that lays snugly around your neck without slipping. Choose the beads to blend or contrast. Either effect is mesmerizing! 3 hour class. Prerequisite: Must know basic knit and purl stitches.

| Embellishments for Clothing: Fiber |
This six-week class will explore many embellishment techniques for creating unique clothing, jewelry, quilted jackets and vests. Construction techniques, discussion of patterns, use of a variety of fabrics, quilting techniques by machine and hand, edging finishes and many decorative techniques including beads, ribbons and other materials will be demonstrated. The majority of techniques and embellishments can be applied to quilts and/or clothing. Handouts and directions will be included with each session. Participants will construct their garments, quilts, samples at home and share progress with the class. Some sewing/quilting experience helpful. Class will start in January 2011 and will be scheduled once a month. Ask for outline if interested.

| Origami Earrings: Paper Folding |
Paper Folding. It is easy and fun to make 'beads' using the Japanese art of paper folding. In this class you'll learn techniques for folding leaves and fish that are the perfect size for earrings. You will also learn finishing techniques, including how to treat the paper 'beads' to make them durable and how to use the folded shapes with glass beads, wire and findings. You'll love these light weight earrings for summertime or anytime.

| Intro to Kumihimo: Fiber |
Learn the basics of the Japanese art of braiding using a hand held loom. In this 2 hour class you'll learn a basic 4-bobbin braid using beads. This piece is perfect for finishing as a badge holder or eyeglass leash, necklace or lariat. This class (or the equivalent) is a prerequisite for all other BBS kumihimo classes.
