Curls & Swirls: Crocheting with Wire and Beads
This class will explore the magic of hyperbolic geometry. And the best part is that you don’t need to know anything about geometry to make this happen! You will work with a fine wire…add a few beads…and discover the exciting properties of the technique and the material as you crochet a lovely necklace or scarf. During the class, we will discuss tips and tricks for successful crocheting with wire and design ideas for taking advantage of the ‘natural curls’ of the technique. If you generally crochet with traditional animal or plant fibers, this is a special opportunity to explore the possibilities and challenges of a new medium.Experience with crochet is helpful but not required. Beginners can follow a basic pattern. More experienced crocheters can flex their design skills as they learn advanced technique adaptations! 4 1/2 hour class (includes a 1/2 hour break for lunch)Instructor: Deb Fairchild
