Discovering the Possibilities: Beaded Beads

    Discovering the Possibilities: Beaded Beads

BEADED BEADS are a great way to learn new techniques and showcase your bead weaving skills. Beaded beads work up relatively quickly and provide outstanding opportunities for practicing technique and experimenting with ideas. And what a playground for explorations in color! In this 3-session series, we will use several beadweaving techniques including peyote, herringbone, right-angle weave, chevron chain, netting, fringe and more as we explore three different approaches to constructing and embellishing BEADED BEADS.

Session 1 will focus on freestanding or self-supporting beads.

Session 2 will explore supported beads that are made using armatures.

Session 3 will focus on shaping your beadwork to construct fanciful beads.

The exercises in each session are designed to expand your understanding of technique and design as we consider the potential and limitations. At the end of the 3rd session, you will have a unique collection of BEADED BEADS and a whole new perspective on these mini, beaded treasures!

Prerequisite: Participants must have some off-loom bead experience. However, there is no specific technique requirement.
