Master Beader Program-Master Seminar
In the first seminar session, we will be Setting the Standard. We will review the Jury Is Out master level requirement, discuss the jury process and explore methods for choosing juried opportunities that resonate with our goals. We will also initiate a discussion about Ethics for the Master and take this opportunity to articulate guidelines for our individual ethical codes.
This session will conclude with an introduction to Significant Periods in Beading History after which participants will choose a research topic. Each participant will be expected to make a presentation on her topic during the second seminar session.
The second seminar session will feature participant presentations about Significant Periods in Beading History. There will be time for questions and discussion of each topic.
The meeting will conclude with an introduction to Ethnic Traditions in Beading, which will be the theme for the third seminar session. Participants will choose a topic to research before the third seminar session.
The third seminar session will feature participant presentations Ethnic Traditions in Beading. There will be time for discussion and questions following each presentation.
The meeting will conclude with an introduction to Contemporary Directions inBeading. Participants will select a topic to research before the fourth seminar session.
In the fourth and final seminar session, the spotlight will be on participant presentations about Contemporary Directions in Beading.
We will conclude our seminar series by circling back and reflecting on the question that got us started…So What Makes Master?
Dates scheduled: Sunday, July 9,2017, September 24, 2017, January 14, 2018 and April 15, 2018 (all Sunday afternoons, 1-4pm). You must register for all four sessions in this series.
